Last night, I was able to accomplish a lot of my normal "Monday tasks" so that the beginning of the week wouldn't be so hectic. With that free time, and the house to myself this morning (for the first time in a week and a half!), I started a project that was long overdue.

In little corners, and cupboards, I've stored some of the things that are of great value to me. Before, it was acceptable to place those keepsakes in different places around the house, but my collection has been growing, and is now in need of a more secure home.

It's now holding 3 baby outfits, napkins & tablecloths for a place of my own, 12 children's books, wedding/husband related items, an old journal, a blue and white baby quilt given to me, and this dress that I wore for my first year pictures:

In our barn, my real hope chest is waiting to be taken out and used. It's 100% cedar, beautifully handmade, and was only $50 when we purchased it last year from a man who had no need for it. When the weather clears up, I'll be bringing that in, and using it instead of the small wooden chest I'm currently using.
